Physical Education Vision

At our school, we aim to inspire every child to develop a lifelong love of physical activity and sport. Through our PE curriculum, we nurture pupils who are confident, resilient and motivated to achieve their personal best.

We provide high-quality Physical Education that supports the whole child. Our curriculum is carefully sequenced to build skills progressively, enabling pupils to develop competence, confidence and a deeper understanding over time. Through this approach, children learn to challenge themselves, persevere when faced with difficulty and take pride in their achievements.

We offer a wide range of inclusive and engaging experiences, both within lessons and through extracurricular opportunities. By listening to our pupils, we ensure that activities are enjoyable, relevant and accessible to all, helping every child to feel valued and involved.

Inclusion is central to our PE provision. We ensure that all pupils, regardless of ability, background or additional needs, can fully access and succeed in PE. Lessons are adapted to support all learners, including those with SEND, so that every child can participate, make progress and experience success.

Our PE curriculum also promotes important values such as respect, teamwork and sportsmanship. Pupils learn to celebrate the achievements of others while recognising and valuing their own progress, developing positive attitudes that extend beyond the sports field.

We are committed to supporting both physical and mental wellbeing. Through PE, we encourage pupils to understand the importance of leading a healthy and active lifestyle, making informed choices and developing habits that will benefit them throughout their lives. We work in partnership with families to promote wellbeing, encourage healthy choices and foster a positive attitude towards physical activity.

We also build strong links with local clubs and organisations, providing pupils and their families with opportunities to engage in sport beyond school. These connections help create pathways for continued participation and involvement in the wider community.

By the end of KS2, our pupils have the skills and knowledge to succeed in a range of physical activities. They understand how to lead healthy, active lives, demonstrate respect and positive sporting behaviour, and are well prepared for future sporting opportunities at secondary school and beyond.
